Trees and tree groups

Adding a tree to a project
  • Will be enabled in one of the upcoming updates!
Adding a tree photo
  • In the tree details > Photos tab, use the camera icon at the bottom right or tap the icon at the top right and select Add photo.
  • Take a picture of the tree and decide whether to use the photo (by selecting OK) or try taking it again (by selecting Retry).
  • If you selected OK, you can now enter a photo caption, decide if the photo should be publicly visible, and upload it to the tree.
Editing tree details
  • In the tree details under the Summary tab, use the pencil icon at the bottom right or tap the icon at the top right and select Edit tree.
  • The form has several tabs. Changes in the Evaluation tab are charged 1 or 2 credits, depending on whether you have evaluated the tree in the past. Price information is visible in the tab. After payment, you have 14 days to edit the tree evaluation without additional payments. Changes to other data are free.
  • Edit the data and save the changes using the icon at the bottom right.
Felling a tree
  • In the tree details, tap the icon at the top right and select Fell.
  • Fill in the felling date and confirm by clicking Confirm.

Safety cabling

Adding cabling to an existing tree
  • In the tree details under the Cabling tab, use the + icon at the bottom right.
  • Fill out the form and save using the icon at the bottom right.
  • If you select more than one level in the form, it will create a separate cabling record for each selected level.
Adding cabling to a new tree
  • Open the left menu using the icon in the left corner.
  • Select Add cabling.
  • Drag the crosshairs that now appear on the map to the location where the tree stands.
  • Confirm the correct placement of the crosshairs (and thus the newly created tree with cabling) with the icon at the bottom right.
  • A form with tree and cabling data will open. Fill out the form and save using the icon at the bottom right.
  • If you select more than one level in the form, it will create a separate cabling record for each selected level.
Adding a cabling photo
  • In the tree details > Cabling tab, tap the tile with the selected cabling.
  • The cabling details will open. In the Photos tab, use the camera icon at the bottom right or tap the icon at the top right and select Add photo.

Decommissioning cabling
  • In the tree details > Cabling tab, double-tap the selected cabling. Its details will open.
  • At the top left, tap the icon and select Decommission cabling.
  • Optionally fill in the reason for decommissioning and confirm by clicking Confirm.
  • By default, decommissioned cabling is not displayed in the Cabling tab. To display decommissioned cabling, check Show decommissioned in the tab below.
Adding a cabling inspection
  • In the tree details > Cabling tab, tap the tile with the selected cabling.
  • The cabling details will open. In the Inspections tab, use the + icon at the bottom right or tap the icon at the top right and select Add inspection record.
  • Fill out the form and save using the icon at the bottom right.
Adding a photo from a cabling inspection
  • In the tree details > Cabling tab, tap the tile with the selected cabling.
  • The cabling details will open. In the Inspections tab, tap the tile with the selected inspection.
  • The inspection details will open. In the Photos tab, use the camera icon at the bottom right or tap the icon at the top right and select Add photo.

  • The cabling details will open. In the Inspections tab, tap the tile with the selected inspection.
  • The inspection details will open. In the Summary tab, use the pencil icon at the bottom right or tap the icon at the top right and select Edit inspection.
  • Edit the data in the form and save using the icon at the bottom right.
Deleting a cabling inspection
  • In the tree details > Cabling tab, tap the tile with the selected cabling.
  • The cabling details will open. In the Inspections tab, tap the tile with the selected inspection.
  • The inspection details will open. Tap the icon at the top right and select Delete inspection.
  • Confirm the deletion of the inspection record by clicking Confirm.

Treatments

Adding a treatment
  • In the tree details > Treatments tab, use the + icon at the bottom right.
  • Fill out the form and save using the icon at the bottom right.
Changing treatment status

A treatment typically goes through the statuses proposed > to be inspected > completed. Alternatively, a treatment is proposed > canceled.

  • In the tree details > Treatments tab, tap the tile with the selected treatment.
  • From the menu, select the status to set for the treatment and confirm by clicking Execute action.
  • By default, canceled treatments are not displayed in the Treatments tab. To display canceled treatments, check Show canceled in the tab below.
Inspecting a treatment
  • Open the left menu using the icon in the left corner.
  • Select Treatments to inspect. This opens a list of treatments belonging to the partner you are currently logged in under, which are marked as "to be inspected".
  • At the top right, tap the icon and select Show on map.
  • If the map does not open at the location of the trees with treatments to inspect, move the map to this location by tapping the arrow icon at the bottom right. Trees with treatments to inspect are highlighted in yellow on the map.
  • By tapping the tree marker on the map, you open the tree details, where you can mark the treatment as completed or not performed in the usual way.
  • After returning to the map, you will only see trees that still have treatments to inspect highlighted in yellow. You can move to the next tree with a treatment to inspect by tapping the arrow icon at the bottom right again.
  • End browsing treatments on the map using the cross icon at the top right.
  • If you do not want to browse treatments on the map, you can also change their status directly in the list of treatments to inspect. Tap the treatment and set the desired status.
Bulk marking treatments as completed / not performed
  • Open the left menu using the icon in the left corner.
  • Select Treatments to inspect. This opens a list of treatments belonging to the partner you are currently logged in under, which are marked as "to be inspected".
  • At the top right, tap the icon and select Mark all as completed or Return all as not performed.

Associated organisms

Adding an associated organism
  • In the tree details > Organisms tab, use the + icon at the bottom right.
  • Fill out the form and save using the icon at the bottom right.
Editing an associated organism
  • In the tree details > Organisms tab, tap the tile with the selected associated organism.
  • Select Edit and confirm by clicking Execute action.
  • Edit the data in the form and save using the icon at the bottom right.
Archiving an associated organism

An organism is archived if it was observed on the tree in the past, but was no longer observed during a new inspection.

  • In the tree details > Organisms tab, tap the tile with the selected associated organism.
  • Select Archive and confirm by clicking Execute action.
  • By default, archived organisms are not displayed in the Organisms tab. To display archived organisms, check Show archived in the tab below.
Restoring an archived associated organism
  • In the tree details > Organisms tab below, check Show archived.
  • Tap the tile with the selected associated organism.
  • Select Restore and confirm by clicking Execute action.
Deleting an associated organism

An organism is deleted if it was added to the tree by mistake. Conversely, if the organism was on the tree in the past but no longer during a new inspection, archive the organism.

  • In the tree details > Organisms tab, tap the tile with the selected associated organism.
  • Select Delete and confirm by clicking Execute action

Plantings

Adding a planting

A planting can be planned (the tree has not been planted yet, but the location (and possibly other details) has been determined) or realized (completed planting). A planned planting can be converted to a realized one after the tree is planted.

  • Open the left menu using the icon in the left corner.
  • Select Add planned planting or Add realized planting.
  • Drag the crosshairs that now appear on the map to the location where the planting is or will be.
  • Confirm the correct placement of the crosshairs (planting) with the icon at the bottom right.
  • A form with planting data will open. Fill out the form and save using the icon at the bottom right.
Marking a planting as realized
  • After clicking the planned planting marker (a dot in a circle) on the map, an information bubble for the planting will open with a link to open the details.
  • Tapping the bubble opens the planting details.
  • At the top left, tap the icon and select Realize planting.
  • Edit the data in the form and save using the icon at the bottom right.
Deleting a planting

Deleting a realized planting record does not remove the tree record that was created by realizing it.

  • Deleting a planting is currently possible via the SPK portal.

Detailed evaluations

Adding a detailed evaluation to an existing tree
  • In the tree details under the Evaluation tab, use the + icon at the bottom right.
  • Fill out the form and save using the icon at the bottom right.
Adding a detailed evaluation to a new tree
  • Open the left menu using the icon in the left corner.
  • Select Add detailed evaluation.
  • Drag the crosshairs that now appear on the map to the location where the tree stands.
  • Confirm the correct placement of the crosshairs (and thus the newly created tree) with the icon at the bottom right.
  • A form with evaluation data will open. Fill out the form and save using the icon at the bottom right.

Deleting a detailed evaluation
  • In the tree details > Evaluation tab, tap the tile with the selected evaluation.
  • The detailed evaluation details will open. At the top right, tap the icon and select Delete detailed evaluation.
  • Confirm the deletion by selecting Confirm.

Lists of elements

Adding an element to a list
  • In the tree details, tap the icon at the top right and select Add to list.
  • Select an existing list to add the element to, or select Create a new list.
  • If creating a new list, fill in its name.
  • Confirm the addition by selecting Confirm.
Removing an element from a list
  • In the tree details, tap the icon with three horizontal lines with bullets at the top right. If you do not see this icon, it means the element is not in any list.
  • Select the list from which the element should be removed.
  • Confirm the removal by selecting Remove.
Tracking already visited elements in a list

If you need to systematically go through selected trees/groups and keep track of which ones you have already visited and which ones you haven't, you can use lists for this. Add these elements to a list and follow the instructions below.

  • Open the left menu using the icon in the left corner.
  • Select Lists of elements and tap the list you want to use.
  • In the list details, tap the icon at the top right and select Show on map.
  • If the map does not open at the location of the list elements, move the map to this location by tapping the arrow icon at the bottom right. List elements are highlighted in yellow on the map.
  • By tapping the tree marker on the map, you open the tree details, where you can make necessary edits or check the data you are interested in.
  • From the moment you open the tree details, this element is marked as visited. It will no longer be highlighted in yellow on the map, and it is now highlighted in blue in the list details. This gives you an overview in both places of which list elements you have already inspected.
  • You can move to the next currently unvisited element by tapping the arrow icon at the bottom right again.
  • If for any reason you need to set elements back to unvisited, click in the list details and select Set elements as unvisited.
  • Confirm the choice by selecting Confirm. All elements of the list will again be highlighted in yellow on the map, and the blue highlighting in the list details will disappear.
  • End browsing elements on the map using the cross icon at the top right.

Sites

Opening site details
  • After clicking the blue site marker on the map, an information bubble will open with the site name and a link to open its details.
  • Tapping the bubble opens the site details.
Navigating to site details from tree/tree group details
  • In the tree/group details under the Summary tab, tap the site name or tap the icon at the top right and select Go to site
Adding a site photo
  • In the site details > Photos tab, tap the camera icon at the bottom right or tap the icon at the top right and select Add photo.
  • Take a picture of the site and decide whether to use the photo (by selecting OK) or try taking it again (by selecting Retry).
  • If you selected OK, you can now enter a photo caption, decide if the photo should be publicly visible, and upload it to the tree.

Site inspections

Creating a site inspection
  • In the site details > Inspections tab, use the + icon at the bottom right or tap the icon at the top right and select Add inspection record.
  • Fill out the form and save using the icon at the bottom right.
Editing a site inspection record
  • In the site details > Inspections tab, tap the tile with the selected inspection and choose Edit from the menu.
  • Edit the data in the form and save using the icon at the bottom right.
Deleting a site inspection record
  • In the site details > Inspections tab, tap the tile with the selected inspection and choose Delete from the menu.
  • Confirm the deletion by selecting Confirm.

User notes

Displaying user notes for trees and groups
  • User notes are displayed in the tree or group details under the Notes tab. The tab is only visible to users who have permission to view notes for the given tree or group.
  • Notes are displayed as cards. Short notes are fully visible on the card. For long notes (approx. over 220 characters), only the beginning of the text is shown on the card. The full text of the note is available in the note details, which the user can access by tapping the note card.
Creating a user note for trees and groups
  • In the tree/group details under the Notes tab, use the + icon at the bottom right or tap the icon at the top right and select Add note.
  • Fill out the form and save using the icon at the bottom right.
Deleting a user note
  • In the tree/group details under the Notes tab, double-tap the selected note. Its details will open.
  • Use the cross icon at the bottom right or Delete note from the menu in the top bar.
  • Confirm the deletion of the note by clicking Confirm.

Settings

Changing the partner/arborist I am currently working under
  • Open the left menu using the icon in the left corner.
  • In the topmost part of the menu, under your name and email, you see the name of the partner/arborist whose account you are currently working under. If your user account belongs to multiple partners/arborists, it is possible to switch between them here.
  • Tap the name of the current partner/arborist.
  • In the menu that opened, select Change.
  • You see the names of the partner and arborist accounts you belong to. Select the one you want to work under.
Changing the basemap
  • Open the left menu using the icon in the left corner.
  • In the Basemap section, select Satellite or Vector.
Displaying felled trees
  • Open the left menu using the icon in the left corner.
  • Select Show felled trees.
  • If you want to cancel the display of felled trees, proceed in the same way.
